Our commitment
Northeast Property Inspections is committed to making northeastinspections.net accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or the technology used to browse the web. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the widely accepted standard for web accessibility.
Measures we've taken
This site is a hand-built, static website, which gives us direct control over the markup on every page. Steps taken to support accessibility include:
- A "Skip to content" link on every page, letting keyboard and screen reader users bypass repeated navigation
- Proper landmark regions (header, main content, footer) and a logical heading structure on every page
- Descriptive, unique page titles and image alternative text throughout the site
- Form fields with properly associated labels, clear instructions, and status messages that are announced automatically to screen readers
- Keyboard-operable navigation, including the mobile menu, the Services dropdown, and the FAQ accordion
- Text and interface colors checked against WCAG's minimum contrast requirements
- A responsive layout that supports browser zoom and text resizing without loss of content or function
Known limitation
The reviews displayed on our Reviews page are shown through a third-party widget (Elfsight) that pulls in ratings and testimonials from Google and HomeAdvisor. That widget is not built or controlled by us, and we cannot guarantee it meets the same accessibility standard as the rest of this site. This is the one exception to our conformance efforts described above; every other page and feature on this site is built and maintained in-house to the standard described here.
